Chris Collins is a renowned jazz woodwind player with extensive touring experience across Japan, South Africa, Europe, and North America, both leading his own ensembles and as a featured soloist. He holds a prominent position in Detroit’s jazz scene and serves as a Professor and Director of Jazz Studies at Wayne State University.
Collins is also the President and Artistic Director of the Detroit Jazz Festival, the largest free jazz festival globally.
Collins’ diverse musical projects include blending classical and jazz elements in his CD “Detours Detroit” and fusing techno and acoustic jazz in “Electro-Monk, Acoustic-Funk”.

Andrea Andreoli is a trombonist who graduated in Classical trombone from the Conservatory “G. Verdi” in Como and obtained a master’s degree in jazz trombone from the Conservatory Giuseppe Verdi in Milan. He has studied jazz and improvisation extensively with notable figures such as Marshall Gilkes, Elliot Mason, and Vincent Gardner. In 2018, he won the lead trombone position with the Norrbotten Big Band in Sweden.
Andreoli has performed with renowned artists including WDR Big Band, Incognito, Maria Schneider, and Vince Mendoza, and has appeared at prestigious festivals such as the London Jazz Festival and Turin Jazz Festival.
He has recorded with various artists and ensembles, including Grammy-nominated albums like “Begin Again” with Fred Hersch and the WDR Big Band. Andreoli has also been involved in musical productions in Milan and across Italy, collaborating with prominent studios and labels for TV music, soundtracks, and musicals. He is currently a jazz trombone instructor at the Milan Conservatory of Music.
